Name: John Woolhouse
Job Role: Senior Partner and Independent Financial Adviser
What inspired you to set up Furnley House?
Initially I was working with Neil and Stefan although we were all running our own businesses. We all shared the same values and ethics and felt that by creating one business we would achieve far better outcomes for our clients and allow us to grow which has proved to be the case.
What are you most likely to be doing day to day?
Much of my time is spent dealing with the financial needs of my existing clients, most of whom have been with me for several years. Taxation, legislation and most importantly my clients’ circumstances change all the time and I see it as my job to keep things together from a financial perspective. I also receive new referrals from my existing clients or from professional connections.
As a Director and Shareholder of Furnley House I am also involved in the strategic decisions and future direction of the business.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Every client is different – they have different needs and expectations. Financial services can sometimes be seen as complicated, but the challenge I have is to meet my clients needs in the most appropriate way. It keeps me on my toes and I find it rewarding when the action we take results in a great outcome for my clients.
What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?
I have a wide circle of family and close friends, so it is always very busy on the social side. I am a season ticket holder at Leicester City Football Club.
