Review of the Year

December 15, 2017 - Reena Patel

With Christmas fast approaching and many of us beginning to feel festive, it signals that another year is drawing to a close.

2017 has been a busy and exciting 12-months for Furnley House so we’ve decided to take a look back at some of the highlights and review the year.

New Faces

We’ve welcomed six new staff members across all three of our offices. Megan, Samuel, Lauren and Zac have joined our Leicester team, Nathan has started in Northern Ireland and Vicky joined the Leamington Spa Office.

Recruiting the right people ensures that we continue to provide high levels of client care. We often recruit and train young talent which should ensure we have a long term sustainable business.

We look forward to 2018 where we hope to share further recruitment news.

A Change of Location

Our Leamington Spa team moved to new offices accommodating for our continuing growth. They are now located at 44 Holly Walk which is conveniently located close to the centre of Leamington Spa. These offices are a lot larger than the previous ones, so we hope to grow our advisory team here next year and beyond.

Community Work

We contribute to the local community as often as we can. Our charity of the year for 2017 was LOROS and we raised over £3,000 for them through various activities such as bucket collections, sponsored cycle rides and surviving for 36 hours in the wild! This year, we also sponsored three local youth sports teams, the Stoneygate Lions, the Kirby Muxloe 88s and the Syston RFC Colts (U18s). We believe keeping children active and developing their team working skills provide a great foundation.

Qualifications

All of the Furnley House team are given the opportunity to expand their skills and knowledge. This year, several staff members have successfully passed qualifications.

Some of the highlights have included David Williams taking his Investment Principles and Risk (RO2) and Discretionary Investment Management (J10) exams, which furthers his knowledge of investment management.

Kevin Dunn has become further qualified. As well as offering Employee Benefits, Mortgages and Protection advice, Kevin has also passed the necessary qualification to broaden his advice further.

All of us at Furnley House wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to talking and meeting with you in 2018.
