The Leicestershire Community Champions Awards returned at a moving event on Thursday 17th November at the Leicestershire County Cricket Ground, with Falcon Support Services taking the flagship award of Charity of the Year.
Now in its third year, the event is run by the Furnley House Foundation to celebrate the inspirational people and organisations who have gone above and beyond to help their local communities.
Over 140 people attended the evening, where the inspirational stories of the finalists were told and over £1500 was raised for the five Charity of the Year finalists.
Loughborough-based Falcon Support Services were awarded a grant of £5000 after being chosen by the judges to be Charity of the Year due to their consistent and joined up approach to tackling problems within their community. As well as the grant, the charity will also receive the support of the Furnley House Foundation for the next year, which includes funds raised at their Summer Ball.
